OBITUARIES

Steven John Bedoch

Steven Bedoch, 42, passed away Monday April 28, 1997 at University Hospital, of HIV-related complications.

Steven, Steve, Stevie B., is survived by his life partner, Denis Weber; his mother, Veronica, and sisters Shirley, Kathy, Mary Ann and Renee. Steve is also survived by good friends Tom Cooke, Mickie Prokop, Judd Little, Denise Leslie and many other loving friends too numerous to list.

Steve worked for many years as a computer systems professional at Premier Farnell Corporation. He was active in Al-Anon and his home group was Nu You in Lakewood. He was also active at the Living Room, as well as other AIDS service agencies, as a volunteer, participant and supporter. Steve loved electronic gadgets, computers, travel, kite flying, shopping, movies, theater, the Cleveland Orchestra and just spending time with friends.

A loving, generous, respectful man, Steve shared his life journey with many. His fierce independence, sense of humor, easy going

nature and gentle spirit supported many people in the HIV community. Not liking to see others in pain, Steve would generously guide, nurture and affirm others, especially in the HIV and Al-Anon communities.

Steve's sense of humor was always present, even in his most difficult times. When he became visually impaired, Steve wryly noted that he now had another tax deduction. During his last hospital admission, he often joked with family and friends. Frequently his humor was used to ease the discomfort of others. Steve did not like to impose or inconvenience friends or family; even at the end of his life he worried about wasting his friends' time.

Steven will be greatly missed by everyone who's life he touched.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 1, at the Lakeview Cemetery mausoleum. Friends who wish to memorialize Steve are invited to make contributions in his name to either the Living Room or the AIDS Housing Council of Greater Cleveland.

Obituaries, written by spouses, family, or friends, may be placed in the Chronicle free of charge.
